MAKE SHOT GLASS CANDLES FOR FUN AND PROFIT You can see these glasses in drinking places, poured with liquor being shared by fun-loving people. This is of course an instant when a single shot glass means a lot. Have you ever wondered about the other benefits of just a shot glass? Well, there is one exciting and very useful innovation with a shot glass, which is using them to make candles. Yes, we call them shot glass candles. Shot glass candles are really artistic, and they could be very useful for the home and whatever other place you think you might want or need them, not as a mere light source, but also for decorating purposes. The process to make your own shot glass candles is easy and economical. Once you begin, and with a small amount of money, you would be able to start a nice hobby or a profitable small business. This is also a means of recycling or re-using old candles. + Cut old candles into pieces and place these pieces in a container or double boiler. + Place the container (or double boiler) into another container of boiling water. Allow the candle pieces to melt. + When you see that the wax has melted, this is the right time to add some dye for color. + Prepare your wicks. Cut them so they fit to the shot glasses. + Place the wicks into the shot glasses. + Pour the melted wax into the shot glasses, but be sure not to submerge the entire length of the wick. + When the wax has nearly set, adjust the wick to the center of the shot glass. Allow the wax to completely set. These are simple steps to follow. Be sure in choosing shot glasses for candle making that you choose the thicker ones to avoid breakage from the heat of the wax. For more accurate placement, cut your wick a little longer than needed and wrap the top of it around a toothpick or pencil lying across the rim of the glass, allowing the wick to hang down into the center of the shot glass. Remember to cut the wick to ¼ inch above the wax before lighting it. A neat finish to these would be to add your own hand-painted acrylic design. The perfect accent to any occasion!!!
