Painting Ideas for Easter
DON'T WE ALL LOVE EASTER?Among children, Easter is probably the most anticipated holiday next to Christmas. Other than Easter being a religious event, it's a fun way to enjoy a day out with families and friends.
But what's Easter without the Easter Bunny? A rabbit carrying a basket full of eggs is a very familiar symbol not only to kids but to adults as well. That is why as a popular choice for Easter crafts, Easter eggs are a great hit with almost anyone who loves Easter days. HAVE FUN DECORATING THE EGGS! Anyone can make Easter eggs. All you have to do is prepare the eggs and drain them of their contents. You can create a small hole on its top and bottom and then blow the contents out into a bowl. Once done, you get a sponge, cut it into different pieces so that you'll have a sponge for every color you want. You can also get a paper plate and use it as your color palette. But of course, don't forget the acrylic paint as this will be the main feature of such project. If you have all the materials needed, dab the sponge in water and properly wring it dry. Afterwards, dip a sponge into the paint and dab it onto the egg either to form a pattern or not. You may also wipe the sponge with a tissue paper before you dab it onto to the egg so as to get the excess paint off that'll just blot the colors. You can be creative with it by painting the egg with a brush first to create a colored background. If the paint is dry, you can apply another color by using the sponge. Another interesting tip, you can also cut the sponge in various shapes and sizes. For example, cut them into stars, crowns, or hearts which the kids will surely love. This will create an interesting effect to the egg's design. You must remember, however, that acrylic paint dries up fast. You might want to dampen your paper plate to increase your working time before it dries up. This is especially helpful when you're blending acrylic paints of different colors. You can also have a spray bottle so that you can spray mist on your palette every now and then and keep the paint from drying up. PLASTIC EGGS? If you don't like working on real eggs, why not get the fake, plastic ones? You can paint on them with acrylic quite easily and won't bother with draining each one of its contents. Also, plastic eggs usually have hollow insides where you can hide treats or candies for the kids to discover. You can also cut out silhouettes of Easter bunnies and paint them with acrylic. You can choose your material from chipboard to canvass to plain art paper to even paper mache. Plaster is also wonderful when making beautiful ornaments for Easter. You can shape Easter eggs with them or create miniature Easter bunnies and give one of each to your kids and their friends. Plaster is terrific with acrylic paints since the latter is water-based. Especially with wet plaster, after painting your designs, you'll have a really great piece of art that is reminiscent of Da Vinci's fresco. So don't be afraid in trying new things. Just be creative and work your imagination because there's nothing more amazing than a creative mind that works out its ideas! |
