You don't need a lot of money to get started in this home business. Painted t-shirts are very popular, and the plain ones are very inexpensive to buy By now you should have all the paints and brushes so you are all set. From t-shirts you can go on to paint many other pieces of clothing.
PAINTED GLASSWARE IS GORGEOUS!
Consider doing acrylic painting on glassware. Many of the Dollar Stores have some beautiful pieces (for $1.00 of course.) Just recently I saw some beautiful gold-rimmed stemware - again only $1.00 each. Think how beautiful they would be with a hand-painted acrylic design on them. A set of 6 would make a gorgeous gift. Or paint one and place a tealight candle inside. A small candle in glass with a dainty hand-painted acrylic design on it would certainly be a popular item to sell.
EVERYONE LOVES PAINTED CANDLES!
I love to paint on wax candles and paint mostly on the 6- inch and the 9- inch ones. These cost $2.00 - $3.00 (plain) and turn out beautifully. Do not buy expensive, perfumed candles. Acrylic paint doesn't work well on them.
PAINT YOUR MAILBOX!
Mailboxes are another neat item to paint with acrylic paints. There are so many designs and patterns available. You can find lots of ideas in Donna Dewberry's book of painted mailboxes, or you can make up your own design. In addition to mailboxes, most any other metal item can be decorated with acrylic paints.
There are so many acrylic painting books available that you can find idea after idea for painting on nearly any surface.
